Bloggerneckers = Blogger Rubberneckers

bloggerneckersI have decided to create a new word:

Bloggerneckers.

This is the equivalent of a “Blogger Rubbernecker” or one whom visits a blog to survey the “damage” but not actually do anything with it, engage, or do anything about it.

They come for a number of reasons, sometimes by accident, and just “browse” and “observe.”

Perhaps they laugh or scoff or portray other legitimate emotions, but they keep it inside… never leaving a comment, never offering support, or sharing in the experience…

I think there are a lot of bloggerneckers out there.

I’m one of them too.

You see, sometimes I just want to see the “mess” that someone else has made with their lives online.

Sick, really.

Can you add to this “working” definition?

[Thanks to Ancoti for the idea! He is a co-author.]

  1. and some people will look and add a daft comment – hoping that they'll get a referal to their blog.
    terrrible
    so self-seeking
    those people should be …
hang on, I do that sometimes
    please forgive me

  2. after years of living in los angeles and experiencing lookey-lou's or rubber-neckers who would stop traffic at an accident scene to get a peek :they are selfish, inconsiderate, cause possible harm to others…
in blogging…i've got a bunch of people coming through who must scoff at me…i'm working on a tiger-trap for them

  3. Very true and it is frustrating. I write because I want to learn, not because I have the answers. So it is frustrating when I try to ask a question or try to get more perspective on an issue and very few respond. Alas. Oh well.
