We’ve talked some basic things to “start out” with, and a framework for thinking about blog posts… we’ve talked about thinking of the “big picture” and large ideas, and we’ve also touched upon some basic practicalities when blogging.

Today, we’ll focus on getting them to come back. Let’s go!

Part 4 – Come Back!

One of the goals is to have your readers come back to your blog, hopefully because you’re content is useful, fun, and engaging. Here are some thoughts on how to make that happen:

• Use some of the tactics of the 4 Part Ooze Awesomeness Series…!
• You have fun. Lots of fun with your blog. It’s obvious. People like hanging with “fun” people.
• You comment a lot. Not just own your own blog but on others.
• You give a lot of “link love.”
• You call people and other bloggers out… either in a good way or a challenging way. Not a bad way please.
• Empowerment. Let you think about that.
• Incentives. Think about that too.
• You give stuff away. Not just “stuff” but also intellectual fodder for the mind. Give, give, give!
• You connect people. People like to network. Do you facilitate that?
• Redesign your theme with your readers in mind. Perhaps you’ve found your “niche”… time to give your blog a design overhaul!
• Redesign your blog with SEO in mind. People can “come” back if they “find it” sometimes…
• Take your comments on a previous post and make a blog post out of them. That’s always fun.
• Stand out! Be proud! Be courageous! Stand up for yourself! Be brave! People like that.
• Have fun.

And there we have it. Nothing too deep. It’s just some practical advice that I’ve learned to use over the years. Take it for what it’s worth…!
