My Father's Day Present.

helicopter-present

So… Dad’s… How’d it go?

What did you want and what did you really get?

Ah, the spirit of Father’s Day.
;)

I actually got underwear. I really needed them actually. I’m quite happy about it!

Being a dad is the toughest job on the planet… well, second to being a husband. But man, what a joy.

  1. Lookin good so far….Wife and kids are sick, but she still managed to have some schnitzel (my favorite) made when I got home from church.
Did I mention that she's also 9 months pregnant?? Yeah, she's quite the awesome one!! :-)

  2. I got one of those Flip cameras. Good deal too. Plus my daughter is making me breakfast this morning before church.

My son is hitting that 'tough' age where hugging Dad isn't cool anymore and that's ok. I know how he feels but he lets his guard down from time to time and that's good too. My daughter however, is a mush. Still melts my heart when at night before she goes to bed, she says, "I love you Daddy."

  3. I got a new 18v Drill. It's cool cause my other one died this week. I really wanted a 22" monitor for my computer though. Sometimes practicality comes first though especially when you've got stuff to fix around the house.

  4. Underwear! Awesome. I got an opportunity to get up and make the bed for my wife (since it was a mess), a promise to buy me two energy drinks to brighten my day, and we're spending a day on the river at my parent's cabin with family (party for daughter's birthday yesterday). LOL. Dig the helicopter! Was thinking about asking for one of those.

  5. Still waiting, but I got hugs and kisses from my girls. What more do I need. Looking for some deals on a grill for our deck. Our current one is rotting through. That'll be my gift this year.

  6. I got chocolates and the Traditional South African Fathers Day gift of biltong (actually I don't know if it is traditional but it is in my family).

Seriously no matter how cheesy it sounds the only thing I want from my girls is a huge hug and a kiss. For me the best part about being a dad is, well… being a dad.

ps Biltong = spiced raw dried meat (the dryer the better IMHO buy others differ). and despite what Philip Gibb says on his blog it is NOT the same as beef jerky.

  7. a great book…http://mypict.me/4Fq0
    some new flip-flops
    golf-push-cart(no more bag-carrying)
the kids also stowed a father's day card in my laptop…so when i went through security yesterday, i noticed the card. love those kids…
