The "Human3rror Hearts U" Blog Hosting Discount!

human3rror_hearts_u

It’s pretty simple really. I like blogging. I think everyone should do it. I think there is so much potential in doing great things through blogs, not just on them.

So, I’ve come up with an easy way for anyone who wants to jump into the cool and refreshing waters of hosting their own blog [WordPress is the best!] but that think it might “break the bank.”

It’s what I affectionately call the “Human3rror Hearts U!” Blog Hosting Discount, via Dreamhost.com.

All you have to do is use the promo code human3rror when you sign up!

It’s just $2.25 per month, if you do the quick math. That’s like a Grande Drip Coffee from Starbucks.

So, let me know if you jump in! The promo code will last forever (and what I mean by that is that I won’t ever remove the code so it’s available to you… but, the $2.25 per month rate is only good for the first year or however many years you sign up for). So, let others know about it.

Why Dreamhost?

I’ll admit it. No hosting service is perfect. Dreamhost isn’t perfect. Trust me, I know. But neither are the 20 others that I’ve tried.

But, with Dreamhost, it’s super easy to get a blog installed and running, the back admin control panel is one of the easiest to understand and navigate, and not a single client that I’ve ever worked with has complained about being “confused” about management in the back end.

And now it’s not too pricey either… and I like the name.

Finally, of course, I recommend it because I actually use it.

I use it for some of my “other” personal projects on the web. When many of them “mature” and out grow Dreamhost, I move them over to something else (and when I mean “outgrow” the projects that migrate are typically averaging 1-3 million pageviews a year).

You won’t have that problem for a little while…
:)

  1. Um… that is totally awesome! I was wondering what I was going to do when my hosting expires later in July because my current hosting cost was going to go up. I will definitely be switching over in July! You said the discount was going to be around "forever"? right?

  2. Ok. SO I did it. And now I'm going to try to figure out downloading WP and installing and all that stuff I've never had to do before with free blogging sites. Pray that I don't lose what little sanity I have left.

  3. I want to have a WP blog and my own domain, but have no graphic design capabilities to make it look good! Any advice for the amateur?

  4. doesn't need to be “fancy schmansy”… find a good theme and build some good content. a good image is as good of a “logo” as anything…!

  5. so if i set up a blog how do i get people to read them like outside of my circle of friends?

  7. SUCCESS! I did it – I bought chezcrazy.org, got WP working and even installed IntenseDebate. Now I need to figure out how to install themes… Oh well, one step at a time!

  8. Human Error, been following you and enjoy your stuff. Saw your work for Michael Hyatt. Off the chain. I am thinking really hard about moving from Typepad to WordPress. I am certain it won't be as intense as Michael Hyatt's move. What would I need to do? Could I use your expert services?

  9. I'm in. Will be getting off the wordpress.com soon. Was going to do it on a work server soon anyway. This means I don't have to bug around with IIS. Thanks. 3000 yet?

  10. i hate it but i don't know what it means to go straight to the api. will this let me place the update where i want?

  11. yeah i have found the plugins, the issue is getting the update to position itself where i want it instead of right at the bottom of the header. i don't know what php script would make the update go in the middle of the right hand section rather than on the bottom of the right hand section…

  12. EY! i have a question for you! i am working on a website and have NO CLUE about php but am learning. i know that you created ragamuffinsoul's blog and i really like how you guys placed that single twitter update into the header.

can you tell me what the code is to get that blasted thing up there? i have tried everything but it always ends up on the bottom of the header and i want it in the blank space. http://www.toccoaspot.org you'll see what i'm talking about. you're my last resort…i usually figure these things out but i'm stuck and on a deadline.

    thanks

  13. well i went ahead and deleted the code i had but i want it to the right of the logo essentially where you placed it on ragamuffinsoul's.

  14. sweet deal man! I think you sold me on switching from a wp.com site to go with my own domain and open the door to options on my own site.

  15. WOW! This is like a gift from heaven suddenly pour all over me :D ow ok maybe I'm a bit too much…and I admit, it's a random browse >_< ouch…I think I'll give it a try, I was considering finding a good host for my online portfolio, while I keep my personal blog at the freebies.

Thanks a bunch for sharing this!

  16. Is the promo code good for only a year. I know you say it last forever but is it good for one year of dropping the price and then the price goes back up to 9.95 a month or does it stay the cheap price? Thanks.

  17. H3,
Just signed up on Word Press yesterday to start our church blog. Why would I need to have Dreamcast host the blog?? what are the advantages? As you can tell, i am new to the blog publishing world.

    thanks

  18. Well, is it a wordpress.com account?

you'll want to do a self-hosted wordpress version so you can have more control and have a tighter ownership of the content and functionality.

    it's the best…!

  20. It is certainly a great offer, there is just the once small problem of the fact that this promo WILL NOT RENEW ON YOUR NEXT PAYMENT. It says so quite clearly right underneath the above screenshot on the actual payment page that all promo's require a new and never before used domain name and credit card, so if you do want to take advantage of the offer know that you will not get the same deal next year (or whatever length of service you signed up for). If you truly believe dreamhost is your ideal host then go ahead and sign a ten year long contract, save as much as you can.

  21. I was really considering where to host the blog and was getting antsy. Thanks for helping me make my decision and for the sweet discount! :)

  25. Just letting you know, I signed up for the free two-week trial on Dreamhost in preparation of getting my blog moved from Typepad. Would love advice, help, you know, everything! :-) I have 30 days to get it done.

  26. John, how are you? This is awesome, can I have two sites in it? If it’s possible I’ll sign-up tomorrow. I have two projects of “mini-ministries” and I have been waiting for a good hosting price ;)
