I got that itch again… literally. I woke up this morning around 3:00am with a crazy thought: What if I were to combine a Twitter-like approach to messaging with the LinkedIn community using WordPress technology? What the heck would that look like?
Yeah, crazy huh. So, I hopped into my office, sat down, started brainstorming about how I would do this. 3 hours later, I had a very cool working beta and was officially soliciting beta testers to try it out.
Thankfully, I didn’t have to create it from scratch since some WordPress devs had developed just the thing I needed. A twist here and voila!
Let’s see if this thing flies… Drop me a line if you want in!
http://LinkedTweet.com <~~~ Site no longer exists.

hey, I had the same idea just now. I did a google search for “twitter to linkedin”. I’d like to twitter what I’m working on and have it post to my wordpress blog and to linkedin at the same time. Do you have something like this working already?
@Joshua,
Nope. Nothing working at this time… LinkedIn is pretty stubborn about their system and has a closed API, etc… from what I gather.
This is a much-needed app! I hope it happens soon!
what happened to the site?
i got sued by linked in.
not very collaborative nor in the spirit of social networking!
no. linkedin is SUPER strict of their brand… almost too much so. it was pretty lame that i got served.
I have been a big fan of LinkedIn but they (or perhaps it is just their advisers) will need to understand/acknowledge that a lack of openness in this way will also be damaging to their brand (possibly even more so than not allowing you 'refer' to their trade mark or to use their API) in the new social/2.0 context/landscape.
yeah, i asked for an API and got a flat out \”NO\”. … ok…
Unfortunately, that is why Apple did not dominate the OS market and let Microsoft gain the marketshare…..now, decades later, history is written. Hopefully Linkedin can learn from others' mistakes.
Wow, this is horrible thinking on LinkIn's part. They've got a foot into a nitch at this critical time for online networking, and thinking like this will really mess it up for them. If they were smart they'd give you an API, and encourage you to use it, make you a VIP member or something, feature you on their homepage. What are they thinking?
not sure, but they got me…
@FriendFeed or Ping.fm (not sure, which one) did post my #Tweets to @LinkedIn.. for me a while back…
