Yesterday we cheated: We opened a few XMas gifts early and had super fun! You see, there are a few gift-givers in our family that are predictable: There’s a good chance they give the same thing each year, and we LOVE it.
Gift Cards ROCK. More about our “cheating” after the jump.
So, we opened those up and then went to Best Buy where we had a fun activity of buying gifts for each other. I baby sat Roenne in the plasma tv area watching Transformers in Hi-Def while Sue went and bought Roenne and me a present.
Then it was my turn. The goal was to do it in such a way where the other party wouldn’t find out about the gift… so secrecy and a little sneakiness was involved.
A funny thing happened that out of all the cashiers that were available I got the same guy that Sue got…! So, he figured it out and thought it was pretty cool.
I thought so too… So what are you doing creatively for gifting this year?

In order for my wife to not find out what I was getting her this year, I had to tell her not to look in the bank account until after Christmas.
haha. classic.
I ordered some stuff for my wife for Christmas. It did not make it here in time (international shipping). So I printed out pictures of the items and concealed them in a number of un-opened chocolates (the secret is to make sure the boxes/wrappings look un-tampered).
haha. sneaky.
I finally wrapped Shelley's gift yesterday. The creative part about it is that I hid it in plain site for the past month and she didn't notice.
so, what was it?
My paypal business card for some contract work I do online and some ebay sales is a great way to conceal secret purchases for my wife! She will be suprised by a couple of things she has no clue about!
not sure if sue checks paypal.. smart.
An uncertain economy and a pending wedding has left me with little $ to spread Christmas around this year. So, I took a new route this Christmas and baked for everyone instead. http://vimeo.com/2589645
While it wasn' the most glamorous thing I've done for Christmas, it was probably the most well-received.
brilliant!
I got Samantha something she would have never dreamed of asking for. She could have not guessed it. When she opened it. I was so glad she had a iTouch!
booya. what a deal. i'm sure she's enjoying it…!
