Who would Jesus Smack Down? Read this article and you may get a clue. I’m not suggesting that I agree with what is written here or the person that it’s written about… I’m just posing the simple question:

So… who? And don’t say satan. That’s a given.

No one. Jesus is love and perfect love does not smack anyone around. Plus, it definitely would not be Satan, because He's already taken care of that before He ascended into heaven – it's finished as He is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven. The whole purpose and goal is not to push or destroy people, its to bring them into a saving knowledge of Jesus that they may skip hell and make heaven. So why would Jesus even think about smacking down anyone, except for His enemy (been there, done that, resting now until His return)?
I agree. Jesus may rebuke, may convict, may instruct, and certainly will rule. Smacking down sounds too WWF for such a class act.

When there were things that He had to stand for, He most definitely was a smacker. Being a smacker doesn't mean you're offensive without a clue. It could just mean that you stand stronger than anyone else on things that matter the most. The cross sure was a smackdown, more than any other event in history. Taking sin itself and giving it a royal, and entirely unselfish, whack in the forehead is about as hardcore as it gets. A "lovely lover" is painted by the church too often these days, when love can be shown in masculine ways too.
