Why I Love the Internet According to my Wife

It was a typical day at the Saddington family household… I was type-type-typing away at my computer, browsing the web, reading up on how Obama is going to save the planet by changing everything, publishing a blog entry, scanning through a thousand RSS feeds, and tweeting… all at the same time.

“Ctrl-Tab” in Firefox is pretty much the best shortcut ever created for the web browsing experience, by the way.

My wife, who was facebooking-it (or at least that’s what I assumed she was doing) got up abruptly from the table and walked over to the kitchen.

She bent over, cocked her head to one side, and looked right into my face and blurted:

“I know exactly why you loooooooooooooooooooove the internet!”

I sat up a bit straighter, fixed my position, closed the laptop a tad, and braced myself…

“Ok… … so… why?”

She said:

You love the internet because it’s like a game to you. You think you can WIN the internet.

I tried to hold back a laugh and look deadpan serious… I’m not sure it worked very well.

My wife says the most profound things ever. I’m glad I married her. I definitely married “up.”

But seriously… it made me wonder if there was some truth to her claim…

I stick with my story: I'm searching for the end of the Internet.

    P.S.
