Simple Gravatar Reminder WordPress Plugin

Simple!

A few of you have asked for this WordPress Plugin that simply reminds the user to get one of those fancy Gravatars as they comment!

I personally remind people almost daily to get one but sometimes it just doesn’t work – you have to have something there right for them to review!

So that’s that! It simply adds a line below the Submit Comment button to get that Gravatar.

Of course the reason you’d want them to do this is to visually identify your commenters as well as increase social engagement (like via JetPack WordPress Plugin).

Download it here!

Let me know if you have any questions!

Does this play nice with your Subscribed via RSS plugin?

CSS wise do we need to hack it all apart?

    • http://8bit.io Tom McFarlin

Yep – it will show up right above that message. And no, you don’t need to hack it apart. It ships with a CSS file.

      • http://ericdye.it Eric Dye

Tom also ships with a CSS file.

        • http://8bit.io Tom McFarlin

Installed!! See if it helps the lack of Gravatar action over at iCHRCH.com… I can only try!

    • http://john.do John Saddington

I’m using Intense Debate to monitor comments. Would I have to uninstall ID for the Simple Gravatar plugin to work?

    • http://john.do John Saddington

      yeah.

  • http://KevinRossen.com Kevin Rossen

I like the concept, but is it overkill to have multiple calls to action after the comment box? Maybe a strategy could be to enable one for a week or month on then switch to the other? Just thinking.

    • http://john.do John Saddington

you could do some A/B testing, for sure… the point here is to have options for you guys… not all of you will use it!

      • http://KevinRossen.com Kevin Rossen

Good point. I’m not using either…yet.

        • http://john.do John Saddington

          ;) no pressure!

First time commenting or coming through for that matter, blog design is killer my friend nice work! As for the Gravatar reminder, WAHOOOO I hate when people comment and don’t have a Gravatar, add some zest people, a little personality. Def. installing this today, thanks again.

Have you looked at my plugin Gravatar Signup Encouragement? :)

    • http://john.do John Saddington

yeah, but that was way too heavy.

      • http://blog.milandinic.com/ Milan

I’m doing an update of this plugin so it would help me if you explain what do you mean when you say that is way too heavy.

        • http://john.do John Saddington

oh. all i meant was that it was overkill in terms of what i was trying to achieve.
