Really Happy

Really Happy!

[Part of the Designing the TentBlogger Brand Image Series.]

This might be one of the more fun ones (and one of my favorite branding images) that Wes has created for me.

I love when things work right (just like this post here) and I don’t take it lightly (or I try not to).

When was the last time you got really happy with something that happened with your blog? Let’s hear those uplifting stories!

I got really happy on my first affiliate sale with Standard Theme, that was dope.

A few weeks ago one of my presentations, Don’t Be A PowerPoint Felon, got featured on Slideshare. The result was tons of traffic both on Slideshare and on my little blog. May be kind of tiny in the grand scheme of the interwebs, but it was a big day for me! :^)

A few weeks before that I was featured on WordPress.com’s Freshly Pressed page. Both experiences felt great because it meant I was creating content that people were actually enjoying and sharing. Lots of hard work was paying off.

I got really happy when I installed Standard Theme. Then I got REALLY happy when I imported all the posts I wanted from my old Posterous to be beautifully displayed on my sparkling new Standard Theme. Standard Theme makes me really happy!

      sweet! nice import!

  • Adam

Just wanted to say you have continually motivated me to become a better and serious blogger. You have helped me in tremendous ways. Thank you!

      ah man, thanks!

REALLY happy to finally upgrade to Standard 2.0. Is there a way to export options from 1.1? I see the import option on 2.0, but no export in 1.1, unless it’s somewhere I’m not looking :-).

      Hey Toby,

There’s no way to export Standard Theme-specific options from 1.1 to 2.0 (we’re actually up to 2.5.4 now).

During the 1-to-2 upgrade, we rewrote significant portions of the theme. It ultimately results in a *significantly* better product, but theme settings was one of the losses we had to cut for that update.

Thanks for the info Tom. Always looking for an “easy way” but I guess I can copy and paste lots of CSS :-).

Great pic John. I had a happy blog moment last night when a newspaper editor in Pittsburgh was looking around for ideas, saw my recent post about another website we just started, and asked me to write a feature on it for next Sunday’s paper. Pretty stoked!

      that is awesome! congrats!
