A Little Bit of Skepticism…

Truth can be so blurred at times and technology isn’t helping much either.

Or, it’s just being leveraged really “strategically.” Every year my skepticism rises in terms of what I choose to believe to be true as found online.

Don’t believe everything you hear or see. Trust me. A healthy dose of skepticism can go a long way.

What We Put Up With, Kinda.

We put up with a lot (and you probably know that already). However uncomfortable things may be we either deal with it out of necessity or because we have no choice, or some other motivation.

Especially during the Holiday Seasons it seems that this buffer of “dealing” gets larger. Maybe because it’s just fashionable to do so or maybe, just maybe, we’re in the “spirit” of things.

In any case, this year, I want wisdom to know when to and when not to put up with stuff, the bravery to tell others that they need to change, the humility to know that it’s me that needs to change, and the grace to accept that a lot of people have to put up with me.

Actually, scratch that; I can do better: I want a changed heart, a heart that desires to serve others above all else, and the wisdom to know who to serve, where to serve, and when to serve. I want to do the stuff that’s great, not just a lot of good stuff.

I’ve spent a lot of time doing stuff that looks good (on the outside) but that doesn’t really do much long-term (and that ends up hurting after a while). I’d rather not do that anymore.

A Merry CoCo Christmas!

We took a very random trip to Walmart of all places last week and apparently Coca-Cola and the Polar Bear mascot were there.

Roenne sees the bear and yells: CoCo!

I imagine this is a condensed version of “Coca-Cola Bear.” Anywho, we grabbed a picture with the large white animal.

Have a Merry CoCo Christmas from Roenne, Sue, and me!

Holiday Project 2009: Sega Genesis to iPhone Dock Conversion

I gave myself a little gift this Christmas Holiday by setting aside some time to convert an old Sega Genesis System into a functional iPhone 3GS Dock.

Good times. Good times.

I’ve documented the process through some photos and videos.

I did goof twice though: I broke the top part that opens/shuts. I had to fix this with a small paperclip. Secondly, I realized when I was done that the dock that I did have was a first generation dock and didn’t work with my 3GS version. Sad. I had to goto the local Apple Store to buy a new one.

Check it out after the jump! Continue reading
