I’ll keep this short and sweet: The parent company of both my apps, Pressgram and DeskPM has been acquihired by Facebook and I’ll be shutting both operations down permanently at the end of this month.
It’s tough to admit, but they had a price that I couldn’t refuse (hey, I’ve talked about this before, so get over it) and the idea that I would never have to work another day in my life was just too good to be true.
Consequently, I’ll also be leaving my role @ The Iron Yard (oh well) and moving out west to join Mr. Zuck and his team as the new CAO (Chief Asian Officer – swanky, right?). My role? Just to be badass, which is pretty easy most of the time.
It is bittersweet since I’ve poured thousands of hours into these very personal projects and I’d be callously bailing on the thousands of people that have supported them over the years but hey, that’s life – grow a pair and live with it.
As for me, I’ll be sipping mixed drinks on my private yacht shortly. Laterz.
