When was the last time you had the opportunity to ask yourself why you do what you do?
When I have the opportunity to “get away” things happen. Things like “thinking deep” and being more “spiritual” and moments of intense introspection.
I also have an opportunity to ask myself the hard questions, like “Why are you doing this?” and “What’s the real motivation behind this?” and “Who are you trying to impress?”
Stuff like that.
I have found these moments to be some of the most enlightening. The problem is that these moments don’t happen nearly as often as they should. Perhaps we’re afraid of the answers and so we fill our schedules out so that they don’t happen. Or, perhaps we already know the answers and simply don’t want the time the reflect on them long enough to move us forward.
Or perhaps we just don’t have them at all.
