Conversation Partners

A few thoughts on the importance of having long-standing conversation partners:

I suppose you could say even more simply that it’s just important that you and I have real and deeply authentic relationships that last a lot longer than just one season of our lives.

These people have historical context about who you are, what you’ve done, where you’ve been, and they’ve seen you succeed and fail and they are happy to be part of that journey with you.

Consequently, they have experience, knowledge, wisdom, and insight that can’t be purchased and when they challenge us it has a weight and a level of import that no blog post or podcast or wise saying could possibly have.

The few folks that I have are invaluable to me. I think one of the things that I mentioned but didn’t completely capture on my vlog was the idea of adding more of these conversation partners to my life and how important it is that we do this sooner rather than later.

We are only getting older and we are losing time on building long-standing, healthy relationships with others. I don’t want to be 40, or 50, or 60 years old and finally getting around to actively and intentionally working on friendship then.

Now is the best time to do that and the compounding interest of those investments are going to result in amazing, life-changing results.
