A friend and cofounder of mine once told me this during a particularly difficult few weeks as we were walking through a number of significant decisions th at would fundamentally change the direction of the business:
You gotta drop a few medkits to run faster.
I’ve been reminded of this quote many times since he first shared it.
The way I interpreted his statement was that we would need to drop a few good things to ensure that we could run faster to our more important destination.
Sometimes this is side-projects, or hobbies, or distractions or even relationships (especially the toxic ones).
People, places, and things can hold us back on our hopes and dreams, even the relatively good ones too.
