Family First.

One of the most significant takeaways from the first day of Catalyst was this: Family.

It’s strange; I wonder if most people when they think about leadership they think first to family. Unfortunately I’ve not been the model husband nor father, and when I say “yes” to things it means that I say “no” to my family.

Reggie Joiner cut me to the quick with his talk about family when he described how he had, in a moment of emotion, abandoned his post as a father after an argument with his youngest daughter.

We need to fight for our families.

We can’t run from our duties. We can’t avoid our families due to business or “ministry.” They must come first, or they will be the first to be forgotten.
