I’ve been asked more than a few times for suggestions on how to get started with iOS development and there are tons of free resources out there as well as paid.
But I found a great 7 part series by Sitepoint that looks like as good of a place to start as any, especially since it’s free. I like how it gets you started by just jumping straight into the environment and downloading XCODE and then in the second part teaching you more of the fundamentals of programming and MVC design patterns, etc.
The point is that you don’t necessarily need an extensive background in software development to get started and that’s a plus. Everything else can be filled in via Google if you need, but with this 7 part series it seems digestible enough to not make anyone feel too anxious.
Good luck and have fun with it!
