In short, I’m not sure that I could entirely do “it” wrong, especially because my attitude toward homeschooling is much more like that of a hacker than anything else. It’s why I’m calling it “hackschooling” instead of homeschooling in most situations.
Iteration and experimentation is the name of the game and bringing Roenne to my own office environment to do her homework and assignments is going to be a big part of the 2015 year.
And we’re just getting started… heck, this was “technically” her first week!
I want my daughter to experience life in a much bigger and broader sense. And, I want to invite her to see how her father works and the people that he meets and the things that he gets to do in an environment that is creative and open.
I wish I had something like this when I was going through elementary school…
Again, I’m not sure if I’ll ever know if I’m doing this homeschooling thing right but I’m confident that I’m getting some of the more important things lined up, like having my daughter understand that I love being around her and that I want to be a part of her life always.
