Honeymoon Stage: Complete

This is a report from Alex, our design intern.

We have come to the conclusion of week 2 and I’m glad for it.

It has been a BUSY week, with at least a solid 60 hours worth of work. I’ve been swamped like this before, but these past 3 days have been particularly stressful. Anyways, I say all that not to complain, but to take notice to how the rest of the 8BIT team puts in that type of week on a regular basis. We’ve worked hard, and we’ve had fun doing it.

Jared and I have been collaborating on some design mockups for a future 8BIT.io landing page. If the team decides to build it, it’s not gonna be unlike any other web page you’ve experienced before. I’m pumped for that.

The rest of the team has been working hard on the release of Standard Theme v2.5.4. We’re also gearing up for an upcoming [censored censored censored censored censored censored]. Hey Alex, we try not to scoop ourselves whenever possible. All in good time :-). – Chris

I have also seen a different side of personalities this week. While last week was really fun and light-hearted, this past week has been focused on business, cramming out work, while still having a fun. I got to sit in on one of the meetings talking about the future of 8BIT as a company and listen to John forecast vision on where he sees the company going. Some of you might know John as a professional blogger, but he’s much more than that. He really gets fired up when he starts crunching numbers and talking product strategy. He’s very wise and I know after this week I would trust him 100% to lead me in any work environment.

After looking back and mulling over the week, I come to one conclusion. I’m humbled and thankful to be a part of this team. They are smart, fun, and doing exactly what my heart desires… honoring personal convictions while running a business. If I don’t have an immediate future with them, let it be known on their own blog, I will be trying to get myself hired as long as 8BIT exists.
