Whenever fundamentally new technology comes onto the scene it is always misunderstood and the misunderstandings take a long time to work themselves out.
This is just the natural cycle of things in culture and our adoption of new ideas and ways of living and doing life.
This progression of individual and corporate revelation is important on both sides. While the individual may believe much earlier in the prospects and value of a new technology she still has to internally struggle with the possibility that they may, in fact, be wrong.
I think it’s important to be honest with oneself about these types of things. We must be willing to be wrong at all times:
Strong opinions, weakly held.
It’s a virtue to know when you’re wrong as everyone changes, evolves, and begins to think differently as their lives necessarily change.
