The 2019 origin story of a failed stand-up comic who eventually becomes Batman’s archenemy is intense and hard to watch, especially if you struggle with any psychological and/or mental disorders.
I highly recommend either going with a friend or maybe even skipping this one altogether if you might be sensitive to watching a man slowly descend into madness — I know I was.
This hit close to home:
The worst part about having a mental illness is people expect you to behave as if you don’t.
I’ve never cared much about what strangers think about my personal challenges with mental illness; it’s just when those closest fail to appreciate or take the time to understand how “it” all works (and doesn’t).
There’s never enough patience to go around.
