This week, we have the newest member of our team, Clay.

What was the best concert you ever attended?

Paul McCartney at Bonnaroo in 2013. Obviously the show was amazing because it was Paul McCartney, but what made it unforgettable was the crowd. I have never been surrounded by such a large amount of people experiencing pure joy. Picture being in the middle of a crowd of 80,000 people and they are all singing “Hey Jude” at the top of their lungs. I cried probably 3 times. A man proposed to a woman next to me during the concert and she accepted. That entire night was pure magic.

What did you want to be when you were younger?

When I was really young… a UPS delivery driver. I used to associate the truck with birthday/Christmas gifts and I used to tell my parents that I thought that UPS drivers had the best jobs because they got to deliver gifts to people everyday. When I got older… an urban planner. I still love maps and learning about urban places.

What’s your secret talent that no one knows about?

I can open a bottle of wine without a corkscrew.

What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?

Blanca in Brooklyn. They do an 18+ course tasting menu and the experience is incredible. You sit at a countertop in the kitchen so you get to see all the dishes being made. They also have an excellent wine pairing that focuses on natural and sustainable wines.

What is your favorite family tradition?

We try to go to Key West every year for Thanksgiving. We have never really had a “traditional” Thanksgiving, and I aim to keep it that way. Our Thanksgiving consists of conch fritters, margaritas, barefeet, and Jimmy Buffet. Yes.. I am from Florida.

Stay tuned, we’ll be continuing our series of “Getting to Know” with our amazing community members.
