Here’s a text message that I sent my wife a few years back:
This was one of the lowest points of my very strange and winding career. I’ve had great jobs and I’ve had a few gigs that I wish I had never even entertained.
I don’t regret taking them though as they seemed, at the time, clearly a decent option. And, like you, I made the best decision that I could with the amount of data that I had. That’s all you can do.
But telling my best friend in the world that I emphatically hate my job is something that I never want to ever say again. I said once and that’s all that I will ever have stomach for.
