Thoughts on Pages Per Visit, Finding Patterns in Growth

Week #6 as a Full Time Blogger saw some steady grow although a bit of a dip in terms of a week-over-week analysis of pageviews and visits.

That doesn’t necessarily bother me because what was really encouraging was to see the pages per visit increase (as well as seeing bounce rate drop).

I talk about this a bit in the following video:

A few important tidbits to note if you don’t have time to view the video:

  • Increasing your pages per visit (the number of pages that each visitor views before leaving) is an important growth metric for your blog. Make every effort to increase it!
  • Add more links in your blog posts to existing content! This is link strategy 101!
  • Analyzing your traffic patterns as it pertains to your RSS readers and when they read and click through to your content can be very telling. Find the patterns over time and see what you can come up with.
  • Slow and steady wins the race!

I hope that these Week in Review posts are helpful to you. Let me know your thoughts about continuing them!

Have a great weekend all!
