YouTube Revenue Report 1

I’m not entirely sure if I plan on doing this regularly, but, I decided to share a few thoughts on earning a few coins via my new-ish YouTube channel and what that’s like.

TL;DR: I made $17 last month (December, 2016).

Here’s a look at the actual dashboard (a better screenshot):

YouTube Revenue Report: December, 2016 — $17.67 (estimate)

As I shared on the VLOG, my intention is to just share the story of what is actually happening. I say this intentionally and explicitly because I have no idea what I’m doing right now with it.

In other words, I’ve just started learning about YouTube monetization and haven’t optimized anything. In fact, I’m not entirely sure where to start (although someone recommended this bootcamp / course / academy …? So, I might actually work through some of those activities to start.

And, to be even more explicit, I have no intention to do this full-time and have no hopes of earning even a modest income from this creative project. Remember, I started this project because I don’t like to quit and I don’t like making promises and commitments that I can’t keep, especially personal ones.

But, for those who are interested and fascinated by the prospect of making money on YouTube, perhaps I can shed a bit of light on that subject.

Side Note: I engaged with a digital friend via Twitter yesterday who shared that at 1,000 subscribers he’s making $57 a month. This is more thant what I originally (and ignorantly) had guessed with paper napkin math.

I’m at half that (~500 subs) and cleared $17 a month. I thought that maybe I could get to $34 a month with 1,000 subs.

Interesting. I’m not sure how long it’ll take to get to 1,000 subs but I will definitely have more videos since I’m doing one a day.

So, we’ll see. I have no idea what I’m doing.
